We made fairy houses yesterday!

You know, in case Tinkerbell wants to visit.
They looked great. We even furnished them with beds and chairs made from leaves, acorns and other things we found around the place.
I would take some pictures if I ever find the camera. It's been a few days since I've been able to find it. Daniel thinks it might be in the diaper bag. I'm gonna keep looking for that too.

Painting Outside

I just wanted to share some pictures I took yesterday of the kids painting out in the backyard.

Once they finished painting on paper they took to the fence.
Which I cared not. 1) It's a chain link fence, 2) It's washable paint anyway ;-)
Delilah stayed alert for wayward squirrels.

Showing off her "handy" work.

When she put her hand down and I saw her forehead I had to let out a surprised cackle.

Delsin's first drawing with facial features

Yesterday, Delsin drew this picture on the chalkboard. He then pointed out, to me, the shapes he used. This guy has a hat made out of triangles put together to form a rectangle with a square on the side. He's got eyes with pupils and a nose with nostrils. Delsin pointed out several times that he was smiling. And he has long squiggly arms and lots of legs. I was very proud.

Then he drew another one on paper. I think this looks great.
It has short arms and a heart.
If you look closely you can see he recycled an old recipe I printed and decided I didn't like. ☺

Binoculars!

The kids and I made some binoculars today. I didn't really complete mine. I started them so I could demonstrate what to do to Delsin and Kai without taking over theirs to show them. Mine are the ones on the left. Delsin's are in the middle and Kai's are on the right. They are drying right now. It was good messy fun and kept us out of Daddy's way for a little bit while he has been working on putting trim down around the Kitchen and living room.

Whoa! Keeping up with all the artwork they do certainly has gotten away from me. I have a stack that I keep saying I'm going to photograph and download, but it's still stacking up. I just had to make time to put this on here though. Delsin and Kai and I all worked on this and we are all very proud of it. It's the scarf you see Delsin wearing. I'll admit though I wasn't jumping at the chance to start it. It's nearly 100 degrees here everyday and they wanted to do a knitting project. Nanna gave us this really cool knitting machine that you thread the yarn through and then turn a crank and it pretty much does the rest. We did find out though that maybe next time we should go slower 'cause I had some holes to patch up, but it's still pretty darn cool considering I can't really knit. I like this machine 'cause I think it takes less time than actual knitting and I think we can make pretty much anything that you could knit. We're gonna give it a shot when cooler weather gets here, anyway.

Delsin's first picture :)

It got left on the refrigerator for a very long time. In fact, I just took it down just now. I didn't even know it was there. There were so many calendars, pictures, photos, shopping lists & various other objects piled up on top of each other that it has even had phone notes jotted down on it. For example, as long as we have this we'll always remember that he has a cousin who's birthday is on June 8th.
The picture is hard to see because I'm bad at taking pictures to begin with and he wrote very lightly. I'm sure he had other things that he drew before this, but this was official.

Rainbows

Noah's ark has been the theme of our bible lessons the past couple of weeks and this rainbow was our craft project for this week, so far.
Kai did the one on the left and Delsin did the one on the right. Together they look like one continuous rainbow. These two are really something.

Delsin's magnet castle

Here is a picture of Delsin's magnet art. He calls this his castle. Last night was the first time Daniel has seen this, so he took some cute pictures.

Some more of what's on our walls right now.

I wish I would have started this blog a while ago. Delsin and Kai have been painting rocks for a year now, at least. Those are scattered throughout the yard and house. I'm sure I'll come across some while I'm raking leaves and then I'll post pictures.

All of the following photos, plus the ones from yesterday's post, are on our walls right now.

Everything is in the kitchen except for the last photo in this post. These range in date from fall of 07 til yesterday. I just realized I forgot to photograph the ones on the refrigerator and computer desk. Maybe those will make it tomorrow.

Right now we are working on our alphabet, again. So the top two are from yesterday and the day before. Today we will be working on letter "C".

In this photo, letter A is by Delsin, letter B is by Kai, the bottom left picture is by Delsin on 11/6/08 and is his name, the puppy was colored by Kai on 9/27/08.

The following Duck was colored by Kai on 10/17/08
The following puppy was colored by Kai in the fall of '07.

This bat was colored by Delsin & Kai in the fall of '07.
This is Delsin's turkey. He made this with stickers at the library last wednesday.
This is Kai's turkey that she made at the library.
This picture was drawn by their cousin, Jonathan. It's so well done and so pretty.
Delsin drew this. It it my name and he drew it on 11/6/08.

These are on the kid's bedroom wall. Kai colored the A and Delsin colored the B.

I want to keep up with all of the artwork.

This is a place where I can post pictures of Delsin & Kai's artwork. I know that I will never have enough walls to put it all on, and some of it has already been destroyed. So, in hopes that I can always come here and see it, I am starting this blogpage for their artwork. I have some catching up to do in taking pictures of what they've done. But here is what I have photographed so far.
These were the animal cracker Noah's arks that they did for Bible study this past weekend. Daniel played the guitar while we sang songs. Then we had craft time and story time and we sang another song while they placed stuffed animals into our pretend ark. Delsin's ark is the orange one on the left. Kai has the purple & black ark on the right.
Daniel's Birthday Cards. Kai did the green one and Delsin did the brown one.

This is the first art project we did for Bible study. They are sheep to represent all the cattle the Abram & Lot had.
